“I am circling around God, around the ancient tower, and I have been circling for a thousand years and I still don’t know if I am a falcon, or a great storm, or a great song.”
Rainer M. Rilke
Welcome to my website. Something or someone led you here so please stay awhile and acquaint yourself with some of my reflections on psychology and loss or even my comedic musings.
A little bit about me: Professionally, I am a practicing Human Relations Counselor, a Certified Group Psychotherapist and a Clinical Member of The American Group Psychotherapy Association. I’ve been practicing as a depth psychotherapist for 34 years meaning I believe in the power of the unconscious to offer us some truths and to help set us free emotionally.
I have specialized in grief and loss and serious illness - particularly after the death of my precious daughter, Katie, to a brain tumor. My work is with individuals, couples and religious communities. I run groups on specific topics. Since March, 2009, I have facilitated a free-of-charge group for bereaved mothers who have lost children. It's called "Mothers Finding Meaning Again." There is more information about these courageous women on this site.
I am pleased to have been chosen as a member of The Partners in MS Care. This program recognizes and supports quality Multiple Sclerosis care. The program involves health care professionals in the areas of neurology, mental health and rehabilitation, as well as links to sites that provide multi-disciplinary and comprehensive MS care. Health care professionals recognized as Partners in MS Care demonstrate knowledge and experience in treating chronic illness and engage in communication with other healthcare providers treating the MS patient. We have a special interest in treating people, spouses and families living with Multiple Sclerosis. Partners in MS Care has a strong collaborative relationship and works closely with the National MS Society to access a full array of medical, psycho-social and rehabilitation services delivered in a coordinated fashion where providers share common goals for patient outcomes.
In Oct. 2008 I completed my book entitled When Every Day Matters. My publisher is the esteemed author of Simple Abundance, Sarah Ban Breathnach. Early in 2009 the book's foreign rights were contracted with St. Pauls and Better Yourself Books in Mumbai, India, for the English version for distribution in third world countries: India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Malaysia and Africa. You will find a link here to Amazon should you like to read an excerpt and maybe even purchase a copy for yourself or a friend.
Lastly, if you are interested in entering therapy with me, know that I believe your inner journey is sacred. I will treat you with respect and compassion. I will enthusiastically encourage you to work hard to uncover your truths. The therapeutic alliance we experience together will help you unravel complicated issues you may struggle with, make changes where possible, and accept that which cannot be changed. My bottom line is that I believe faith and spiritual beliefs make life bearable in hard times and are a joy in good times.
I see clients in person both in Newtown Square, PA and South Jersey or consult by telephone. I do not accept insurance keeping your information highly confidential. My fee is reasonable. I will help you decide what comes next.
